Here are some common questions about i-Secure Legacy (II)

1. Does i-Secure Legacy (II) cover early critical illness or advanced critical illness?

i-Secure Legacy (II) can come with two optional riders: (1) AdvancedCare Rider and (2) EarlyCare Rider.

The AdvancedCare Rider pays a lump sum benefit* upon diagnosis of any of the covered 55 Advanced Stage critical illnesses such as major cancers, stroke, liver/lung diseases, heart attack,
coma and more.

The EarlyCare Rider pays a lump sum benefit* upon diagnosis of the covered critical illnesses from Early, Intermediate to Advanced Stages. It also provides additional benefits for 12 Juvenile Conditions and 12 Special Conditions.

A total of 161 conditions are covered if you include the EarlyCare Rider.

 

2. Are there other riders available?

If you are taking up this policy for your loved ones, add on from a range of premium waiver riders that waives premiums upon Death, Terminal Illness, Total and Permanent Disability and critical illness of the payer and/or payer’s spouse. 

 

3. What are the special promotions or discounts for i-Secure Legacy (II)?

In addition to special promotions offered by China Taiping, InsureDIY also gives up to 50% commission rebate on your first year's premium.

The current China Taiping promotion for i-Secure Legacy (II) is 15% off your first year premium and an $85 shopping voucher. Applicable for yearly premium payment plans and valid till 30 April 2023.

 

4. Are the surrender benefits guaranteed?

The surender value will comprise of a guaranteed portion and a non-guaranteed portion. The non-guaranteed portion is based on the bonus that the insurer declares from year to year. In addition, the surrender value accumulates over time, which means that you will get a low surrender value if you terminate the policy early.

 

5. What if the sum assured plus bonuses are higher than the guaranteed benefit before the guaranteed benefit expiry age?

If the sum assured plus bonuses are higher than the guaranteed benefit (sum assured X multiplier factor) before the guaranteed benefit expiry age, the benefit payout will be the sum assured plus bonuses.

 

6. Are the critical illness premium rates guaranteed?

While the premium rate for the critical illness rider is not guaranteed during the premium payment term, after the premium payment term, the insurer can no longer charge you any premium for the policy. This way, you have "locked-in" the critical illness premium rates once you pass the premium payment term. 

* The maximum critical illness benefit payable on the same life under:
(a) early and intermediate stage for each critical illness is S$350,000; and
(b) under all stages is S$3 million,
inclusive of all insurance taken with China Taiping Insurance (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. (“CTPIS”).
